"He has that little chink especially when he first comes in to bat," he said in a knowing a tone.

Umar, with five for 31 on Day One, said: "This was the plan laid out by coach Javed bhai. He told us (bowlers) specifically to pitch the ball up to Tendulkar and make it seam into him. "By God''s grace, it worked." Tendulkar was out leg before to the 19-year-old for two, and India were reeling for 75 for three.

Umar also revealed that the Pakistan think tank believes that Rahul Dravid is the most difficult batsman to dislodge. "For him, the plan is to keep pegging away in the corridor of uncertainty and just hope that he will make a mistake. There is no apparent weakness in his batting we feel," he said.

Umar, who will turn 20 on the 14th of this month, has modelled himself on Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath. "I copy McGrath a lot. Right from my early days of serious cricket, I wanted to bowl like him. I have tried my best to make my run up as easy as McGrath''s.

"Then, I too, am open-chested bowler like him. Like McGrath, I also try to hit the deck and make the ball move away from the right-hander," he said, adding after a pause, "But I still have a long way to go."

Umar is mindful of the work that he has to put in to be a recognised as a force. "I''m at it and with people like Shoaib bhai around, I think I can do well. This five-wicket haul has given me a lot of confidence and I''d like to dedicate the effort to my parents," the Pathan from Peshawar said.

The youngster likes to dream and he was living one of those on Monday. "Oh, playing against India was big as it is, but this is huge. Something that I have always dreamt - first Test against India, and getting Tendulkar out. This was very, very special."
