LeBron James is not only good at his game, but he has also been super active on social media keeping fans updated about his life and his personal opinions of things. However, the Los Angeles Lakers legend who has been dubbed as Greatest of All Time by many, has recently shared a social media post with an announcement that would not go well with many fans. Regardless, his post revealed that he is taking a hiatus from social media.

LeBron James steps away from social media

LeBron James will not be available on social media for quite a while. The LA Lakers star’s sudden decision is surprising considering his activities on social platforms. On Wednesday, James shared on his Instagram and X pages that he will be on a break from social media. “And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care,” James wrote on X.

The all-time leading scorer in the NBA, James’ announcement came after Kevin Durant’s longtime manager Rich Kleiman’s post on X. He wrote, “With so much hate and negativity in the world today, it confuses me why some of National sports media still think that the best way to cover sports is through negative takes. We can all acknowledge that sports is the last part of society that universally brings people together,”

Kleiman added, “So why can’t the coverage do the same? It’s only click bait when you say it. When the platform is so big, you can make the change and allow us all an escape from real life negativity. I for one find it all a waste of breath. The Olympics and JJ and Bron’s show was the future of what this can and should all be.”

“Damn shame what it’s come to,” James wrote in the caption of his Instagram post sharing a screengrab of Kleiman’s post.

The announcement came a day after James remarked, “everybody on the Internet called me a liar all the time,” referring to his claim of watching Dalton Knecht’s college games at Tennessee last year, well before the Lakers drafted the sharpshooter.

Additionally, James has long embraced the spotlight as the NBA’s biggest star, but when it comes to his son Bronny, he seems less eager for the attention. Criticism of Bronny’s talent has only added to the overwhelming media pressure.
