Will Stephen Curry play tonight against the Sacramento Kings? Latest update on the Golden State Warriors star's injury report (January 22, 2025)

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is expected to participate in his team’s upcoming game against the Sacramento Kings. This has been a weird season for Curry, as he has only been able to play in 34 of the Warriors’ 42 games. The 36-year-old has been dealing with knee issues that have forced him to rest at least one game of back-to-back fixtures. However, Steph has been going strong and is averaging 22.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game.

Stephen Curry is also shooting 44.8 from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc. The Warriors lost their last matchup against the Kings in a bad way. Sacramento was missing their best player, De’Aaron Fox but still managed to blowout the Dubs by 30 points. Since then the Dubs have only managed to win three of seven games. This inconsistency is a big reason behind the Warriors’ poor performance this season.

The Dubs started their season with a record of 12-3 and have since been 9-18. They have lost their championship identity and struggle to compete with most teams if they can’t keep up till halftime. Stephen Curry has even voiced his frustrations with the team’s lack of competitiveness and hopes to instill more confidence in them. Curry himself has taken a step forward and his averaging 23.6 points, 6.2 assists and 5.0 rebounds over his last five games. However, with the way they’re set up, we doubt that the Warriors will be able to do much damage this season.

Curry will be available against the Kings but head coach Steve Kerr will still have his hands full. Kerr will have to adjust for the absences of Brandin Podziemski, Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, and Kyle Anderson who will all be missing for tonight’s game.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of game plan Steve Kerr has in mind with so many key players out with injury. It is also worth noting that while the Warriors are reeling with injuries, the Kings will come into this game with no players on their injury report.
