Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for his team’s upcoming game against the Boston Celtics. This has been a terrible season for Leonard, as he has only been able to play in five of the Clippers’ 42 games this season. His recurring injuries haven’t allowed Leonard to find a rhythm and as a result, he is currently averaging just 13.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Furthermore, the 33-year-old has also lost a lot of his athleticism and agility.

During his best years, Leonard was one of the most dangerous players in the league. He was a leader on both defense and offense and led the Spurs and the Raptors to NBA Championships. Unfortunately, his career has been riddled with injuries that have held him back from reaching his full potential. When healthy, Leonard is still one of the most versatile stars in the league who can light it up on any given night.

However, with the way his career has progressed, it doesn’t seem like Leonard will be at his best any time soon. Kawhi Leonard is the least of the Clippers’ problems as they have seven players in total on their injury report for tonight. Kris Dunn, Norman Powell, James Harden, and Nicolas Batum have all been listed as questionable and might end up playing.


Furthermore, Leonard, Ivica Zubac, and P.J. Tucker are confirmed to be out and will miss this game. The Celtics, on the other hand, don’t have a lot of injuries to deal with. Al Horford and Jrue Holiday are currently listed as questionable and Drew Peterson is confirmed to be out. From the looks of it, this will be yet another uphill battle for the Los Angeles Clippers who have somehow managed to stay afloat this season.

Leonard has only played five games but the Clippers have still managed to grab the fifth seed in the Western Conference. If they can keep it up till Kawhi is back, the Clippers might end up surprising everyone in the league. Leonard will likely miss several games this season as the Clippers manage his right knee. It'll be interesting to see whether Leonard will sit out against the Wizards as well.
