[Watch]: Kevin Durant Goes Viral for Vibing to Drake’s “No Face” at Wireless Festival

NBA superstar Kevin Durant recently captured the internet’s attention after a video surfaced of him enjoying himself at the Wireless Festival in London. The Houston Rockets forward was spotted grooving to Drake’s live performance of “No Face,” a track that includes a shoutout to Durant in the lyric: “KD just text me, WTF are we waiting on, damn.”

Kevin Durant’s relaxed presence among the crowd, moving effortlessly with the rhythm, resonated with fans and showcased the genuine camaraderie between the basketball icon and the Canadian rapper. Their relationship goes beyond public appearances and mutual admiration. Durant notably featured in Drake’s music video for “Laugh Now Cry Later,” and holds A&R and executive producer credits on the rapper’s 2023 album For All the Dogs. In 2022, Drake even referred to Durant as his “executive producer,” a title that solidified their creative connection.



Their history of public moments stretches back to 2016, when Kevin Durant made a surprise on-stage appearance during Drake’s concert at Oracle Arena. Drake, known for referencing athletes in his lyrics, has name-dropped Durant multiple times over the years. In “Weston Road Flows,” he rapped: “Shout out to KD, we relate, we get the same attention,”—a line Durant once said caught him off guard when he first heard it. Jay-Z also mentioned Durant in “Crown” with the line: “It’s a new day, hit up KD,” which Durant found particularly impactful after signing with Roc Nation.
Kevin Durant has acknowledged being referenced by other major hip-hop artists as well, including J. Cole, Fabolous, and Logic, all of whom have used his name to symbolize excellence and relevance.

Despite a momentary tension during the 2019 NBA Finals—where Durant’s Golden State Warriors faced off against Drake’s beloved Toronto Raptors—the two have maintained a strong mutual respect and lasting friendship.

Durant’s latest festival appearance comes during heightened attention on Drake, who is currently embroiled in a lyrical feud with Kendrick Lamar. That rivalry saw fellow NBA star LeBron James attending Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert, where several diss tracks targeting Drake were performed. This led to online speculation that LeBron might be distancing himself from Drake, especially after Kevin Durant posted a photo from Drake’s music video set. The post was misinterpreted as Durant choosing sides, prompting him to clarify on social media that he wasn’t taking part in the drama.
