NEW DELHI: Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has opted to take the high road after initially being upset by comments made by former teammate Kevin Durant regarding his recent suspension.
Green, who served a 12-game suspension for slapping Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic, revealed on his podcast that he chose not to take offense after viewing Durant's remarks "through the right mindset."
Durant, speaking after the Phoenix Suns' loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, expressed his relief at Green's return to the court and clarified that he harbored no ill intentions with his comments.
"I'm glad he's back. I'm glad he can move past that. Draymond is an incredible teammate. He got his times where he loses his temper, but everybody has those times. I'm sure they're all happy to have him back," Durant stated.
Addressing the perception of him as a "malicious snake" or being passive-aggressive, Durant emphasized that he didn't mean any harm or disrespect to Green or his family. He expressed his contentment at seeing Green back on the court, indicating a desire to move forward positively.
Green returned to action last Saturday following his suspension, which resulted from the incident involving Nurkic. This incident occurred a little over a month after Green's suspension for putting Minnesota's Rudy Gobert into a headlock.
Reflecting on his podcast, Green acknowledged the unproductivity of harboring anger towards Durant and others who suggested he needed help. Choosing to adopt the right mindset, Green appears focused on moving forward and contributing to the Golden State Warriors' success on the court.
