It has been 6 years since the NBA world and Kobe Bryant’s family witnessed one of the darkest days of the league’s history. The Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna passed away in a tragic helicopter crash in 2020. On Kobe and Gianna’s 6th death anniversary, Vanessa sent a simple, heartfelt reaction remembering all the good memories. Taking to her Instagram, Vanessa shared a picture of Kobe and Gianna and simply added animated beating hearts stickers on it, revealing that he has all the good memories to celebrate about her family she lost. The post is also a revelation about the amount of pain she endured over the years, but now, Vanessa is a strong mother as she is focused on her three daughters while keeping the memories of Kobe and Gianna through different works.

Six years after one of the darkest days in NBA history, Vanessa Bryant marked the death anniversary of Kobe Bryant and their daughter Gianna with a quiet but powerful tribute.Kobe’s eldest daughter, Natalia Bryant, also shared her own tribute. On the anniversary, she posted a photo of herself with her father and Gianna, adding a single ❤️ emoji. Natalia graduated from USC last spring, where she paid tribute to Kobe through her outfit.
She also appeared in a commercial for her father’s shoe brand alongside New York Knicks All-Star Jalen Brunson.

Days before the anniversary, Vanessa also commemorated a major milestone in Kobe’s career. She marked 20 years since his iconic 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors on January 22, 2006. Through Instagram stories, she shared reels and images highlighting the performance that made Kobe the second-highest single-game scorer in NBA history.Kobe reflected on that night shortly after it happened, saying, "I feel pretty good. It hasn't really sunk in yet. We had four days off coming up here. I'd have been sick as a dog if we lost this game. I just wanted to step up and inspire us to play a great game, and it turned into something really special."

What happened to Kobe Bryant and Gianna?

Kobe Bryant, 41, and Gianna Bryant, 13, died on January 26, 2020. Their helicopter crashed into a hillside in Calabasas amid heavy fog. All nine passengers were killed on impact. Investigations later revealed the pilot became disoriented after flying into low-visibility condition which led to a rapid descent.Gianna, born on May 1, 2006, shared a close bond with her father through basketball. Kobe often spoke proudly of her talent, once saying, "Gianna is a beast. She’s better than I was at her age. She’s got it. Girls are amazing. I would have five more girls if I could. I’m a girl dad." Their legacy continues to live on through family, sport, and memory.
