Kobe Bryant, already a Hall of Famer from the Class of 2020, was honored again at the 2025 ceremony for his role on the 2008 U.S. Olympic team. Vanessa Bryant celebrated her late husband's induction with an Instagram post, while LeBron James and others honored him on stage. The absence of the Lakers legend was deeply felt during the event.

Late Los Angeles Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant, was honored at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony that was held on September 6, 2025. The NBA icon was already a part of the Class of 2020, and on Saturday, he was honored again through his absolutely marvellous role on the squad. To celebrate this achievement, Vanessa Bryant posted a story on Instagram to honor her late husband on his induction day. His absence from the induction of the 2008 U.S. men’s Olympic team was felt on stage. LeBron James was also there to honor the late Lakers legend during the team’s enshrinement.

In a similar occurrence of events, Kobe Bryant was one of the inductees at the 2025 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. To honor the late Lakers legend, LeBron James, along with others, had something to say. His absence was felt on the stage. However, Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, made sure to fill the gap by posting an Instagram story honoring her late husband on his induction day.

Lakers star LeBron James honored Kobe Bryant during the ceremony

Both the Lakers legends were on the same Olympic team, the “Redeem Team”; therefore, LeBron James had to honor Kobe Bryant on his induction day.
40-year-old LeBron James became one of the first two active NBA players to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
“He was the missing link we needed in order to regain dominance with Team USA,” LeBron James said of Kobe Bryant.
The team had LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, along with Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul. The team restored supremacy in international basketball after defeating Spain in the final to win Gold in the Beijing Olympics.
On one hand, there were Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard, who were enshrined as individual members of the Class of 2025. And, on the other hand, there were LeBron James and Chris Paul, who made history as active players of the NBA to be inducted by the Redeem Team.
