Victor Wembanyama admits San Antonio Spurs’ comeback win left him drained
With the San Antonio Spurs bridging their 25-point deficit with an impressive victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA franchise proved they are here to dominate. After pulling off one of the most significant performances of the 2025-26 NBA season, Victor Wembanyama revealed the face-off did take a toll on his body. During an interview with ESPN after the game, Wembanyama said,
“I was about to pass out, from the first quarter. ..That’s close to being the hardest game of my life. It might not have looked like it, but we played a hell of a game against the most physical team in the league yesterday. I thought I was going to pass out… That's close to being the hardest game of my life."
Despite being exhausted, Wembanyama went on to turn the game towards the San Antonio Spurs with his sheer dominance over the Clippers. He went on to register 27 points along with 10 rebounds within less than 22 minutes of the game. However, despite scoring the highest points for the team, it wasn’t a solo effort to bridge the 25-point deficit. Julian Champagnie added 20 points with his phenomenal performance, along with De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle’s much-needed contributions for the San Antonio Spurs’ remarkable victory. Despite being both physically and mentally exhausted Victor Wembanyama did what he is best known for in the league.
