Late-Game Ejection Steals Spotlight

With the game nearing its conclusion and the Warriors dominating, tensions flared when Green voiced his displeasure with the referees. After receiving a technical foul on the court, head coach Steve Kerr quickly substituted him to prevent further escalation. However, Green’s frustration continued on the bench as he verbally confronted officials, leading to a second technical foul and ejection.

Before leaving the court, Green directed a profane comment—reportedly mouthing “F**k you”—toward the referee.

Kerr’s Explosive Reaction

The drama didn’t end there. Post-game, an enraged Kerr confronted the officials, yelling and pointing in protest. Warriors players Gary Payton II and Moses Moody had to physically restrain him, escorting him to the locker room to prevent further escalation. Even as he walked away, Kerr’s anger was evident.

After the game, he expressed his discontent with the officiating, stating, “The last quarter, the last half was disgusting. I felt bad for our fans having to watch that – what transpired.”

Earlier Tensions Set the Stage

Earlier in the game, Green was involved in a controversial play with Grizzlies’ center Zach Edey. After falling hard while driving to the basket, Green appeared to entangle Edey’s foot as he attempted a fast break. The replay suggested the move might have been intentional, resulting in a foul call against Green and increased tension between the teams.

Draymond Reacts to Grizzlies’ Strategy

Post-game, Green acknowledged the challenges posed by the Grizzlies’ unique offensive approach. “To see that for the first time, took a little getting used to. But I thought the coaching staff did a great job of preparing us for it,” he said. He further described their style as “unconventional,” noting, “In the NBA, most rotations and patterns are pretty similar. What they are doing is like I haven’t seen it.”

A Win Overshadowed by Controversy

Although the Warriors extended their winning streak, the game’s conclusion highlighted ongoing issues with player conduct and officiating in high-pressure situations.
