Zion Williamson brands Anthony Edwards soft in his leaked trash talk audio

Anthony Edwards and Zion Williamson recently sparked a viral moment with their heated exchange during a game. After Williamson's highly anticipated return to the court, he and Anthony Edwards exchanged trash talk. Edwards provoked Williamson from the sidelines after a foul was called while guarding Julius Randle. The Pelicans star responded, saying, “That sh*t is soft as f**k.” Edwards replied, “Foul, foul n****!” The exchange captured the attention which added drama to the game.

Later, Williamson remained cool when Edwards grinned from the bench again. His teammates were laughing along having fun witnessing the incident. The trash talk didn’t stop there. As Nickeil Alexander-Walker drove to the basket and drew contact with Williamson for a layup, Edwards loudly shouted “foul!” from the sidelines again. The referee didn’t call the foul, but Edwards kept up the mocking as he attempted to go under Williamson’s skin.

Despite the verbal jabs, both players continued to perform at a high level. Edwards led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 7-point win, scoring 32 points. However, Williamson responded with a highlight-reel reverse windmill dunk, showing off his stunning skills on the court with his 22 points on the scoreboard. Edwards later praised Williamson, praising his dominance on the court.

This encounter is just the latest chapter in their rivalry, as both players have frequently exchanged words on the court. While Edwards often uses trash talk to get under opponents' skin, he showed respect for Williamson’s performance, calling him “strong” after the game. Likewise, Williamson has mentioned Edwards as one of the league’s most notorious trash talkers.
