Born on March 14, 1988, Stephen Curry is an American professional basketball player and point guard for the Golden State Warriors. He is one of the greatest shooters in the history of basketball and has changed the sport by showing teams and players how to use the three-point shot. He is a four-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, NBA Finals MVP, All-Star Game MVP, NBA Clutch Player of the Year, and inaugural NBA Western Conference finals MVP. He is the son of the former NBA player Dell Curry and the older brother of the current NBA player Seth Curry. Curry was drafted as a seventh pick from the Warriors in the 2009 NBA draft.

Having struggled with injuries and failing to get into the playoffs during 2020 and 2021 seasons, Curry won his fourth NBA title with the Warriors and the first Finals MVP award when he defeated the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. The same year, he also broke Ray Allen's record to become the all-time leader in three-pointers made in NBA history.
Curry is the holder of numerous other records, notably for his efficiency and three-point shooting. He has the highest career free-throw percentage in NBA history (91.0%) and has led the league in three-pointers made a record eight times. In 2013, he set the NBA record for three-pointers made in a regular season with 272, surpassed that record in 2015 (286), and again in 2016 (402).
Stephen Curry's personal life
Stephen Curry married longtime girlfriend Ayesha Alexander, a native of the Toronto area, on July 30, 2011, in Charlotte. Curry and Alexander met when they were respectively 15 and 14 years old at their church in Charlotte. They have two daughters, both born in 2012 and 2015, and two sons, both born in 2018 and 2024. In July of 2019, Curry paid $31 million for a home in Atherton, California. His younger brother, Seth Curry, is also a professional basketball player, and his younger sister, Sydel, played volleyball at Elon University.
Curry and his wife publicly endorsed Joe Biden as the next President of the United States during the 2020 Democratic National Convention. In December 2021, Curry voiced his support for the For the People Act, an election reform bill aimed at expanding voting rights. In 2023, Curry filed an objection to building multi-family housing in the wealthy town of Atherton, California, where he and his family live due to safety and privacy concerns for themselves and their children. Curry openly supported Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee and a keen Warriors fan, in the 2024 United States presidential election.
