NEW DELHI: Pascal Siakam's long-standing tenure with the Toronto Raptors is coming to an end as he is set to be traded to the Indiana Pacers. A source with knowledge of the agreement revealed on Wednesday that the deal includes Siakam heading to Indiana in exchange for three future first-round draft picks, along with guards Bruce Brown and Jordan Nwora. The trade is still pending league approval, and the full terms were first reported by ESPN.

Siakam, a two-time All-NBA selection and two-time All-Star, played a pivotal role in the Toronto Raptors' success, notably contributing to the team's 2019 NBA title. The 28-year-old forward is in the final year of his contract, earning nearly $38 million this season. Once the deal is complete, he becomes eligible this summer to sign a lucrative five-year contract, potentially reaching $247 million.

The Pacers, currently the NBA's highest-scoring team, will significantly benefit from Siakam's addition. Indiana is positioned at No. 6 in the Eastern Conference, and pairing Siakam with All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton promises to strengthen their competitive edge, despite Haliburton currently being sidelined with a hamstring issue.

In addition to Siakam, the Raptors will acquire Bruce Brown, a guard with a championship pedigree, having played with Detroit, Brooklyn, Denver, and the Pacers. Brown is enjoying a career-best season, averaging 12.1 points.

Jordan Nwora, a forward who averaged 5.2 points with the Pacers this season, is also part of the deal. The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly involved, sending Kira Lewis to Toronto, a move that could help the Pelicans get below the luxury tax threshold.
