“Not easy” - Angel Reese breaks silence on recent WNBA CBA negotiations ahead of the senior national team debut
Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers are entering a new phase in their careers. The trio are all set to make their debut as part of the USA Basketball Women’s team. Ahead of the debut, the athletes were present for their media availability. During this appearance, Chicago Sky star Reese was asked about her opinion on the issue. Reese gave a very carefully structured reply, where she believed that negotiations are not easy.
The March 10 deadline is approaching. This has created a tense atmosphere within the WNBA. Several other athletes have issued their comments on how the league has failed to arrive at an agreement that would be beneficial for the athletes as well. The player’s main focus is the revenue share.
Reese replied, “I mean there is both. I mean everybody wants to play, but all of us wanna play where at the end we should be compensated for. So we are just gonna continue negotiating.” She further continued, “Negotiation is not easy. I talk to my team all thetime when I negotiate deals or anything, it’s negotiation.” The athlete drew a comparison to her own life in order to explain the difficulties faced during negotiation. Reese added, “We go back and forth until we both come to a common ground where we both can go for. So I am just gonna continue to be a voice and do whatever I can as a young voice” In the end Reese explained how everyone wants to play basketball, but also get fairly compensated within the league.

Angel Reese gives her opinion on the ongoing WNBA CBA negotiations
On March 7, 2026, players of the USA Basketball Women’s team were present for media availability. During this segment, WNBA star Angel Reese was asked about her opinion on the ongoing WNBA-CBA negotiations. She was asked, “What is most important to you? Is it playing in the WNBA in 2026 or is it getting everything that you want in a new CBA?” The question was asked because a possible strike is looming. This would hamper the course of the 2026 season, which was scheduled for May.Reese replied, “I mean there is both. Will there be no WNBA 2026 season?
There is a high possibility that the WNBA 2026 season might be at the risk of not happening at all. The deadline for the WNBA-CBA negotiation settlement was March 10. Both parties have previously skipped these deadlines and now there is a probability that the March 10 deadline will also pass without any result. In such a situation, a strike by the athletes of the league is imminent. WNBPA member Breanna Stewart in one of her recent appearances stated how the athletes are ready for a strike even though they don’t want it. This strike would heavily affect the 2026 season.Get the latest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, IND vs ENG Live Score updates, including the full schedule, teams, points table, and key series stats such as top run-scorers and wicket-takers.
