On Tuesday night, the Denver Nuggets faced the Dallas Mavericks in Texas. Nikola Jokic delivered an impressive first-half performance, recording five points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and one steal. Jokic shot a perfect 2/2 from the field and 1/1 from beyond the arc in just 17 minutes. In the game, the Denver Nuggets recorded an impressive 118-99 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
The three-time MVP also reached a historic NBA milestone. According to the league, Jokic became the fastest player in history to record 15,000 points, 7,500 rebounds, and 5,000 assists. He accomplished this in only 709 games, surpassing Larry Bird, who needed 799 games to reach the same achievement.
Adding another NBA feat to his name, Jokic joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only center in NBA history with 5,000 career assists. He entered the game with 4,992 assists and reached the milestone with his eighth assist in the third quarter. The game also secured the 29-year-old athlete a triple-double. In the game, he added 10 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Jokic is currently averaging 30.6 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists this season. After missing two games due to illness, Jokic posted his second consecutive triple-double. His 145th triple-double set a record alongside Russell Westbrook.
Jamal Murray led the game against the Mavericks for a season-high 45 points. Murray dominated the first half. He scored 32 points, easily surpassing his previous season-best of 34 points from December 28 against Detroit.
Murray shot an 18-for-26 from the field, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, and contributed six assists and two steals. Murray exited the game with under four minutes left, just five points short of his career-high 50 points set against Cleveland in 2021.
