Carmelo Anthony named Michigan State's Breslin Center as his toughest arena

Carmelo Anthony, regarded as one of the greatest scorers in the NBA, has played 19 seasons in the NBA. But before he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2003, he played college football for the Syracuse Orange. He won a national championship in 2003 with the team and was also named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player that year. During his college days, he faced the Michigan State Spartans quite a few times, and recently, he named their arena as one of the most difficult arenas he ever played at.

The Syracuse Hall-of-Fame guard, speaking on his podcast 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony with special guest Keon Coleman, revealed how difficult it was to play in East Lansing. Coleman is an ex-Spartans, and discussing with him brought back memories for Melo, who said:

"I faced a Tom Izzo team during my year at 'Cuse [Syracuse] in Michigan State, but that game was crucial and it ended up being a tough road win for us... It's hard to win in Michigan State, going on the road, on a Saturday, at 12 o'clock, it's nasty. I always say that's the worst place, the hardest place I ever had to play, any basketball game, was Michigan State, ever."

For someone like Melo, who is considered a legend of the game, to say that Michigan State was his most difficult game ever, it sure sparks curiosity among fans. The arena is considered to have one of the most electric environments inside the Breslin Center, and of course, it would be difficult for players of the opposition team to score a win there, including Carmelo Anthony.
