An Insider source close to Luka and the Lakers team revealed that fans on the internet overinterpreted the entire incident. Instead, both Luka and JJ share a close relationship and constantly push each other in terms of developing their game.

It featured a brief verbal altercation between the Lakers’ star player, Luka and their head coach, JJ. The clip went viral immediately and debates about what possibly might have happened started coming up among the fans.

During his appearance on NBA Today, Dave was asked about his opinion on the relationship between Luka and JJ. To this, he responded, “I checked into this with people around the league and within the team. League source said when he saw the video, ‘LA is different. The smallest thing becomes the biggest thing. A source close to Luka told me that he and JJ have a strong close relationship that dates back nearly a decade and they're both fiercely competitive and they push one another.”


Dave further added, “A team source said find me a star in the NBA that isn't frustrated amidst a 3-game losing streak. It's much to do about nothing. But hey, we know the internet likes to have their fun. In this case, if you have been around an NBA basketball team full of people who live for competition, sometimes it gets messy when they are going for a common goal.” The ESPN NBA reporter cleared the air on the supposed beef that was speculated between Luka and JJ, since the clip went viral.
