In the most recent game between the Boston Celtics and the Sacramento Kings, which the Celtics won, their star player, Jayson Tatum, suffered an ankle injury, which did not let him continue with the game. With less than a month from the playoffs, this could cost the team a lot, if the injury turns out to be bad. The Celtics are currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference, only behind the table leaders Cleveland Cavaliers. But if Tatum is forced to miss games because of this injury, the scenery could look quite different for them.
Jayson Tatum suffered an ankle injury against the Sacramento Kings
During last night's game, the Boston Celtics dominated the Sacramento Kings on the court, with
Jayson Tatum being the highest scorer of the game with 25 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. Unfortunately, he could only play for 26 minutes, and halfway through the third quarter, he suffered an ankle injury after landing on Domantas Sabonis' foot. He lost his balance, fell to the floor, and looked to be in quite a lot of pain.
The Celtics won 113-95 against the Kings, and have their next game against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, March 26. Fans we'll be looking to see if Tatum plays the next game, as the team will have an official update before the upcoming game.
Injury updates on Jayson Tatum
After suffering from an ankle injury, Jayson Tatum had to be helped out of the court by the players and staff and was out for the remainder of the game. Fans are obviously nervous about what it could mean for the rest of the season and the playoffs, but we do have some updates on the Celtics player. Bobby Krivitsky, who is part of the Celtics beat for Forbes, gave an update, saying:
"No boot for Jayson Tatum. An encouraging sign for how his left ankle is doing."During the press conference after the game, Joe Mazzulla, the head coach for the Boston Celtics said:
"He [Jayson Tatum] seems to be doing OK, he is icing it right now... Just taking care of it right now."The recent updates seem to indicate that the injury is not as serious, as Tatum seems to be in a positive mood. Many are saying that had the injury been worse, his attitude would have been reflective of it. Hopefully, the injury was superficial, and he will be back on the court for the next game.
