NBA Christmas Day games get glamorous with wives and girlfriends in the spotlight
As joyous as Christmas Day is, it is that time of the year which is celebrated with bright lights and sweet delicacies and prayers all the way. And in the NBA too, Christmas is not just about intense rivalries. Over the years, Christmas has become a celebration of style and glamour and all thanks to the wives and girlfriends (WAGS) of the big league’s biggest and most popular stars. And as far as fans go, many are also eyeing on the courtside, where they might get to see some of the most popular faces from music to the fashion industry, as they often appear on the courtside to support and cheer for their partners, on-court.
And this year too, in 2025, the NBA Christmas is promising to offer some of the most iconic games and with it, comes the presence of NBA’s most high-profile WAGs (wives and girlfriends) who add to the charm and moment in the games. So it is safe to say that the sparkle will be felt both on and off the court.
The NBA Christmas games begin at Madison Square Garden this year, where the Cleveland Cavaliers are set to play off against the New York Knicks. Madison Square Garden is often called the “Mecca of Basketball”, MSG is expected to welcome fans and some of the very well known faces in the NBA. It is possible to expect Donovan Mitchell's fiancee, Coco Jones in the courtside. Knicks’ player Karl Anthony Towns’ girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, who is a popular model and a successful businessman, is also expected to attend the games, offering extra excitement and joy to the fans.
On Christmas Day, it is said that the San Antonio Spurs will also face the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox’s wife, Recee Fox, is expected to be present in the games, as she is often seen supporting him in the courtside, during some of the most important on-court events and moments. The Oklahoma City Thunder player, Isaiah Hartenstein’s wife, Kourtney Hartenstein is also expected to be present on the courtside, cheering for her husband.
Then after that, Chase Center will see the Dallas Mavericks play against the Golden State Warriors. Warriors’ legend, Stephen Curry is expected to be playing, and thus, fans can almost be sure to watch Ayesha Curry on the courtside, to cheer for and support her husband, with her presence.
Christmas Day has always been busy for LeBron James, since his NBA career started, even though he prefers to stay home, spending quality time with his family. But his wife Savannah James has never left his side, standing by him, throughout the games. NBA fans call her “Queen James” as she has been successful in balancing her family life with his high profile games that his career demands, always making her presence on the joyous Christmas Day, which is often a delight for fans sitting courtside to witness.
This Christmas also marks a special moment for Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr.’s girlfriend, Jasmine A. It's been 6 years that the Houston Rockets have not played on Christmas Day ever since 2019. So this year is quite special as the Rockets are playing, and especially more special for the Rockets forward, Jabari Smith Jr., who is playing this year, and his game is believed to get more special and exciting with the presence of his girlfriend this year, Jasmine A, which is believed to be her first holiday presence, where she would be seen supporting her boyfriend.
The day is believed to end with the Minnesota Timberwolves playing against the Denver Nuggets. Kendra Randle, who is the wife of the Timberwolves forward, Julius Randle, is expected to be present on the courtside, witnessing his game, and cheering for him. Denver Nuggets’ center Nikola Jokic is also playing, so it is not surprising for fans that his wife, Natalija Jokic will be present there too, supporting her husband with her presence.
Thus, it is quite clear that NBA Christmas is not just about playing games, but it is about the WAGS being present there, standing by and supporting their spouses and partners, during the most wholesome time of the year, cheering for them with their wonderful presence.
