LeBron James Sparks Frenzy Over NFL vs. NBA Debate: Fans Say “Nobody Cares”

LeBron James expressed his thoughts on that after he led his Los Angeles Lakers to a victory over the Golden State Warriors on Christmas. James mentioned the NFL in his ESPN postgame interview without being asked. James stated, “I love the NFL. I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day.”

James’ statement erupted X (formerly known as Twitter). Fans were quick to opine on the situation and set records straight as per them. A fan said, “@KingJames is a child predator. #ReleasetheDiddyFiles.” Another fan mentioned, “No the F**k it's not. You ruined the league dumb a**” A fan opined saying, “Nobody cares what LeBron has to say about anything. Go party with Diddy.” Lastly, a fan noted, “Wake me up when Jordan says something.”

Safe to say fans were quick to retaliate. LeBron James's declaration of Christmas as "NBA’s day" may have reignited the age-old NBA-NFL rivalry, but it certainly got people talking. While only a few fans echoed LeBron's sentiment, others were quick to fire back with witty retorts and disparaging remarks.

The NFL, however, seems to have the last laugh. With their dominant Christmas Day ratings and unwavering commitment to playing on the holiday, it seems the league has successfully staked its claim on the most wonderful time of the year. Whether LeBron and the NBA can reclaim their Christmas Day crown remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: the battle for holiday supremacy is far from over.
