NEW DELHI: Kyle Kuzma's outstanding performance, contributing a game-high 29 points, propelled the Washington Wizards to a convincing 127-99 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Wizards snapped a six-game losing streak, securing their first road win since December 21.
In addition to Kuzma's impactful performance, Jordan Poole contributed 20 points for Washington. Deni Avdija showcased an all-around game with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. Bilal Coulibaly added 12 points, while Corey Kispert and others played crucial roles in the Wizards' collective effort.
For the Atlanta Hawks, Trae Young led the team with 21 points and 10 assists, followed by Saddiq Bey with 16 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic with 14. However, the Hawks struggled with their shooting, making just 34.4 percent of their field-goal attempts.
The Wizards took control early in the game, responding to a brief Hawks lead in the first quarter. Washington established a 13-point lead by halftime, and their dominance continued in the third quarter, outscoring Atlanta 41-24. The Wizards held a commanding 99-71 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
Kyle Kuzma's stellar first-half performance, scoring 22 points on 8-for-14 shooting, set the tone for Washington's success. The Hawks, on the other hand, faced shooting woes, connecting on only 30.8 percent of their attempts in the first half.
