Rapper Jay Z is betting big this NBA season and it's not Tyrese Haliburton who is currently the talk of the world for his game-winning shot that made the Indiana Pacers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jay Z has placed a bet of a whopping $1 million on the Oklahoma City Thunder, which lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He has bet on the Thunder to win the NBA Championship in a total of five games, to be precise.
All about Jay Z’s bet for NBA Finals
According to TMZ.com, Jay-Z has bet $1 million with good friend Michael Rubin's Fanatics Sportsbook. If the rapper is able to win the bet, he will reap a profit of $2.3 million while walking away with a total prize money of $3.3 million.
As the news was shared on X, many refused to believe it, whereas many wondered at how rich the rapper was. Reacting to the news, an X user wrote, “Already lost.” Another said, “But how much is Drake betting and on what? that's the real question.” Questioning the entire information, an X user wrote, “This is so corny . Using Jay Z to influence others to place bets. Meanwhile he’s probably using fanatics sponsored funds smh.”
An X user reacted to Jay Z’s betting, “Imagine being so rich betting a cool mil is like me betting a penny.” Another said, “And I was sweating my $15 bet last night…. Oooookayyy.” One more commented, “FAKE. I can’t bet more than $5.”
A comment also read: “I have never understood rich people betting - unless just for fun. I can understand betting on a team to win, but to do so specifically in 5 games seems ridiculous. I would get much more satisfaction from randomly giving away $100,000.00 to 10 (or $10,000.00 to 100) needy people.” Another read: “Still waiting to get into your vip program that I opted into …smh.”
