Collin Gillespie finally opens up on on-court altercation with Draymond Green

On December 23, right before the Phoenix Suns went on the court to face the Los Angeles Lakers, Collin Gillespie opened up about the confrontation with Draymond Green. Talking to the media, the young athlete stated, “I ain't even get under his skin. Like, he said something to me and I said something back to him and I don't know if he I thought I wasn't going to respond to what he said to me?” Gillespie further explained, “I'm 26 years old, I'm a grown man.
I'm not going to just let somebody call me a name and then not say anything back. I didn't really get under his skin.”
Gillespie ended his part of the story saying, “I just said what he said back to me and that was it and then he freaked out so I don't really know." Green was visibly furious and lashed out at the young athlete. After Green got ejected due to his behavior, head coach Steve Kerr tried to protest the decision. This led to the coach getting a technical foul as well. When Gillespie was asked about the reason for the ejection, he stated, “I think he was more mad at the ref, and that’s why he got his second tech. I didn’t really have a problem with how he hit me, or when he ran into me, or what he said to me. But that’s just basketball at the end of the day.”

What did Draymond Green say to Collin Gillespie?

It was a highly intense game between the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns. Just minutes into the second quarter of the game, Draymond Green seemingly pushed the Suns guard Collin Gillespie. While this led to his first technical foul in the game, the fact that the athlete continued to argue with the Suns guard gave him his second technical foul. During the argument, Green addressed Gillespie, saying, “WHITE BOY! B***! DON’T PULL THAT S***, WHITE BOY!”
When Gillespie was asked about the kind of language Green used, the young athlete was hesitant to use the words in front of the media. As per the interview, Gillespie’s exact statement was, “I can’t say. You could probably put it together, but I can’t say it in the media. I just said, ‘Don’t talk to me like that.’ That’s all I said. It wasn’t crazy, and I used the terminology he used.”Also Read: NBA weighs bold rule changes amid gambling allegations as league moves to curb tanking
