We are officially in the new era of the NBA, and gone are the days when 7-foot players were considered rare. The modern NBA’s hardwood is dominated by giants who mix their height with elite skills and intelligence are proving to be the most dangerous combinations on the court. They are not only pushing boundaries, their own boundaries, but are also pressuring their opponents to go beyond and above.
From generational talents to those who are still growing, here’s a list of the tallest players in the NBA right now.
1. Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs)
Victor Wembanyama was the Spurs' jackpot hit in the 2023 draft. They picked him as their #1 overall, and till this date, they thank their stars for it. Nicknamed “the Alien”, the 21-year-old continues to redefine the game. Currently playing in his third season of NBA, he consistently puts people in awe of his skills. He is averaging 24.3 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 3.4 APG, with a 52.5% shooting from the field. Leveraging his tall height, the French prodigy has also averaged 9.6 defensive rebounds per game. Who can imagine shooting over a 2.24m tall man?
2. Zach Edey (Memphis Grizzlies)
Zach Edey entered NBA with certain pressure after being selected 9th overall in the 2024 draft given a legendary career at Purdue.
The 23-year-old Canadian giant has become the most physically imposing presence on the hardwood. Standing at 7’3” and weighing over 300 lbs, he is a walking double-double.
In his second NBA season, he is averaging 13.6 PPG and 11.1 RPG while shooting a highly efficient 63.3% from the field. His massive frame allows him to dominate the paint, making him a cornerstone for the Grizzlies' offense and defense.
3. Bol Bol (Phoenix Suns)
Though Bol Bol’s current playing status remains questionable but he’s still one of the tallest players in the league. Drafted as the 44th pick in Round 2 of the 2019 NBA draft by Miami Heat but immediately traded to Nuggets, Bol Bol was seen as a potential prospect due to his 7’3” frame and skill set. But his NBA was soon painted with inconsistency, defensive lapses, and injury. The 26-year-old last played for the Suns in 2024-25, where he averaged 6.8 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 0.7 BPG.
4. Rocco Zikarsky (Minnesota Timberwolves)
Rocco Zikarsky, the new giant on the block, is an NBL star. Rocco was drafted in 2025 in Round 2 as pick 45 by the Chicago Bulls, who then traded him to Minnesota. He is currently on a two-way contract between NBA and G-League. Standing at 7'3" while weighing 224.8 lb, Zikarsky's wingspan, if used properly, could become the hidden ace for Timberwolves’ defense.
The 19-year-old is young and full of energy, and if given correct guidance and training, can be nurtured as Wolves’ future star alongside Rudy Gobert. His G-League stats for the 2025-26 season show that he averaged 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.
5. Dereck Lively II (Dallas Mavericks)
Imagine crossing 7 feet in height yet still growing for another two inches. Yes, that’s what happened with Derek Lively. He was drafted in Round 1 as pick 12 in the 2023 NBA draft and was listed at 7’1”. But by 2025, his new official height was 7’3”. This growth spurt was a definite surprise for everyone, but good news for Dallas Mavericks: more height means more coverage and more basket protection.
Though currently out after sustaining an injury in his right foot, Derek Lively only appeared in 7 games this season before sustaining a season-ending injury in December 2025. He averaged 4.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting only 61.1% from the field.
