Kendrick Perkins calls Warriors' resurgence like Lamar’s GNX

Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins is buzzing about the Golden State Warriors' impressive turnaround this season. Ahead of their Friday showdown with the New Orleans Pelicans, Perkins likened the Warriors' revival to the energy of Kendrick Lamar's new album "GNX." During ESPN's pregame coverage, Perkins joined Bob Myers, Malika Andrews, and Brian Windhorst to dive into the Warriors' impressive form, sparking fresh excitement around the team’s resurgence this season.

"The Warriors been poppin' in the west like Kendrick Lamar's new album," Perkins said."When it comes down to what they've been doing, I've been watching this team since pre-season and they have a certain type of look.”

"They have a certain type of synergy about themselves. They defend at a high level with Draymond Green anchoring that defense, they're number one in perimeter defense. Here's the thing though, I believe that the Warriors are legit title contenders." (via: Sportskeeda)

The Golden State Warriors weren’t expected to shine this season after losing Klay Thompson to free agency and adding role players to strengthen their bench. Coach Steve Kerr even started with a bold 12-man rotation.

But the strategy has worked wonders. The Warriors are off to a strong 12-3 start, including a 112-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. That victory also made them the first team in the Emirates NBA Cup to win all three of their group-stage games.

With the Dallas Mavericks’ win over the Nuggets, Golden State has advanced to the next round, with their final group-stage game against Denver on Dec. 3.

Andrew Wiggins powers Warriors to Emirates NBA Cup victory

For the second consecutive game, Andrew Wiggins led the Golden State Warriors with a standout performance, scoring 30 points, along with three rebounds and four assists, as the Warriors triumphed over the short-handed New Orleans Pelicans 112-108 at the Smoothie King Center.

Wiggins also posted 27 points in the Warriors’ previous victory over the Atlanta Hawks, continuing his impressive form this season. After battling through personal challenges in recent years, the former No. 1 overall pick seems to have rediscovered his old rhythm.

Looking ahead, the Warriors have four more games this month, including road trips to face the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns, plus two home matchups at the Chase Center against the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder. The game against the Thunder is especially thrilling, as they sit atop the Western Conference alongside the Warriors, making it a highly anticipated clash.
