NBA legend
LeBron James is officially 41 years old, and he has zero "filters" left. In a shocking new interview on the
Bob Does Sports YouTube show, "The King" went viral for trashing two specific NBA cities: Memphis and Milwaukee.
LeBron James refuses to apologize as backlash over city comments explodes
When fans started calling LeBron out for being "disrespectful" to smaller cities, he didn't apologize. Instead, he doubled down with a quote that is now all over the internet:
"Did I say I don’t like Black people? … I’m 41 years old and there’s two cities I don’t like playing in right now. And that’s Milwaukee and that’s Memphis."LeBron explained that at his age, the "grind" of the season is just too much. He joked that staying at a "f***ing Hyatt" on a "random-ass Tuesday in Milwaukee" or a "Thursday in Memphis" is the last thing he wants to do.
LeBron didn't just complain, he offered a solution. He suggested the Memphis Grizzlies should move to Nashville! Why? Because Nashville has better hotels, a hockey team, and NASCAR. He even admitted that if Memphis had drafted him back in 2003, he might have "pulled an Eli Manning" and refused to play for them.
The drama got even deeper because Memphis is a city with a very large Black population. Some critics on social media said it felt wrong for LeBron to trash the city while sitting with a group of white hosts on a golf show. They called it "sell-out" behavior.
LeBron’s response was his way of saying:
It’s not about the people, it’s about the amenities! He says he loves the people of Memphis, but he hates the "NBA standpoint" of the city, meaning no good saunas, no hot tubs, and bad hotels.
The mayor of Memphis is already working hard to keep the team in town, but LeBron’s comments have put the city on blast. Whether the Grizzlies move or not, one thing is clear: LeBron James is counting down the days until he never has to visit a Hyatt in Milwaukee ever again.
The next time the Lakers pull into Tennessee, the Memphis crowd is going to be absolutely LOUD! Fans are already planning to boo LeBron every time he touches the ball to show him that their city and their hotels are more than "good enough" for a king.
