D'Angelo Russell puts up 29 as Los Angeles Lakers outrun Chicago Bulls

NEW DELHI: D'Angelo Russell led the Los Angeles Lakers to a high-scoring 141-132 victory over the visiting Chicago Bulls, making a season-high eight 3-pointers and scoring 29 points in a thrilling matchup on Thursday night. LeBron James returned to action after missing one game due to an ankle injury, contributing 25 points and 12 assists. Anthony Davis recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, extending his streak to seven consecutive double-doubles. Austin Reaves added 20 points and eight assists for the Lakers.
Jarred Vanderbilt had 17 points, shooting 8-of-11 from the field, while Taurean Prince contributed 14 points for Los Angeles. The Lakers, who had struggled with consistency, managed to secure the win by shooting an impressive 60.9% from the floor, including 64.5% from beyond the arc with 20 of 31 3-pointers.

For the Chicago Bulls, DeMar DeRozan led the way with 32 points and 10 assists, showcasing his scoring and playmaking abilities. Coby White added 25 points and seven rebounds, while Nikola Vucevic contributed 20 points and eight rebounds. Ayo Dosunmu scored 18 points, Alex Caruso added 17 points, and Andre Drummond had 11 points and nine rebounds. The Bulls, playing without Zach LaVine for the third consecutive game, faced challenges on the defensive end against the Lakers' sharpshooting.
The Lakers took control of the game in the second quarter, embarking on a 31-14 run that gave them a 73-57 halftime advantage. Russell, particularly hot in the third quarter, made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points, extending the lead to 112-93 by the end of the quarter. Although the Bulls made a late push, closing the gap to 140-132, the Lakers ultimately secured the victory.
