NEW DELHI: Dallas Mavericks' star Luka Doncic will be sidelined for the upcoming game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to left quadriceps soreness. This decision comes after Doncic played a substantial role in the Mavericks' previous game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he recorded 39 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in a narrow 113-110 loss.

According to Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, Doncic aggravated his quadriceps injury during the team's Christmas Day victory over the Phoenix Suns and did not have sufficient time to recover from the soreness on a back-to-back schedule. This marks the third missed game of the season for Doncic, who has been delivering outstanding performances with averages of 33.7 points, 9.2 assists, and 8.4 rebounds per contest.

In addition to Doncic's absence, Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving will continue to miss games, sitting out his 11th consecutive matchup due to a right heel contusion. To address the injuries to key players, the Mavericks signed guard Brandon Williams to a two-way contract, providing additional depth at the point guard position.

Furthermore, Maxi Kleber will remain sidelined for his 27th consecutive game due to a dislocated toe. The Mavericks will navigate these injuries as they face the Timberwolves, hoping to compensate for the absence of their star players.
