The 25-year-old announced her engagement on Instagram to longtime lover Spencer Touro on Sunday, February 22. Marshall shared a number of pictures on Instagram, revealing that she became engaged on Wednesday. She also included a comment that summarized her experience with Touro.

Caitlin Clark expressed her support for her former Iowa teammate by expressing her pleasure about Marshall's engagement. After four seasons together, Clark and Marshall were instrumental in guiding the Hawkeyes to the 2023 NCAA championship game.

During the 2022 regular season, the pair led Iowa to the top of the conference rankings and assisted the club in winning three conference tournament crowns. Clark broke numerous individual records for the Hawkeyes and in the NCAA Tournament, while Marshall was chosen team captain in their final season at Iowa.

Marshall chose not to play professional basketball despite her success with Clark. Rather, she decided to pursue an academic career and enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated with a master's degree in occupational therapy.

Clark, a star of the Indiana Fever, set several NCAA records while playing at the University of Iowa and went on to become one of the most accomplished players in women's college basketball history. In addition to leading the country in assists and scoring, she led the squad to spots in the 2023 and 2024 National Championship Games.

Among the many accolades she received were three Big Ten Player of the Year titles and two National Player of the Year trophies. Beyond that, though, Clark is one of the most renowned individuals in the sport because she is a leader and mentor both on and off the court.

Marshall chose to focus on his studies rather than playing professional basketball after graduating from college. He obtained a master's degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. But through social media and in-person meetings, she and Clark have remained close friends.
