Los Angeles Lakers' Anthony Davis, the dominant force of this season and the current top scorer in the NBA with an average of 32.6 points per game, suffered an ankle injury late in Los Angeles' 115-103 loss to the Detroit Pistons. The 31-year-old big man suffered the injury as he was fouled by Pistons center Jalen Duren on a drive into the basket, where he landed awkwardly and clutched his left ankle. According to reports, Davis confessed that he has been suffering from ankle pains since last summer after the game. In fact, he said,
"Landed on the spot that’s been killing me."Also read -

With that said, Davis battled and stayed in the game with incredible 37 points after shooting a season-high 38 points in the Lakers win over the Toronto Raptors. Once again, this testifies to his tenaciousness in playing through the pain as he remains the most integral part of Los Angeles' offense. Further, his incredible scoring series has only put him even closer at the center of the Laker's campaign this season.
Coach Redick Praises Davis’ Dedication and Work Ethic
Lakers’ head coach JJ Redick commended Davis' dedication, calling him “a pro’s pro,” and lauding his work ethic and passion for the game. “There’s a reason why he’s had the career he’s had and why he’s going to be in the Hall of Fame,” Redick said. “It’s not just because of raw talent, but because he’s a worker and loves the game.”
Davis is now continuing with what was the best season in his career so far last year wherein he played for 76 games, something which seldom happens to him for that star is known as injuries in most of his games where he played.
He remained fit at peak while he took up the number one position as he scored all the points. He did not even let go off the game intensity in the slightest. He remains an important man in the team of Los Angeles.
Upcoming Match Against Memphis Raises Questions About Davis’ Health
The Lakers will wrap up their five-game road trip with tonight's date with the Memphis Grizzlies. Everyone, be it the fans or the analyst, now waits if Davis is ready to play, and if his ankle would last for back-to-back matches. Davis' health shall play a significant role in what will happen next when the Lakers try to secure a number of wins during this new season.
