The latest trade window was one of the most active in recent NBA history. From the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis mega trade to Jimmy Butler to Kyle Kuzma, every minute seemed filled with tension. Many high-profile names were mentioned during the window, with a lot of players finding new homes. While some were a little expected, others came completely out of the blue. Today, let's take a look at some of the best to some, not good trades that took place during this window.
1. Los Angeles Lakers-Dallas Mavericks: Luka Doncic (and Anthony Davis)
The biggest trade in probably the decade (some would even say NBA history) saw the Mavs trading their #1 star player, shooting guard Luka Doncic, to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and one of their two available picks.
2. San Antonio Spurs: De'Aaron Fox
The Spurs managed to receive one of the best (and youngest) point guards to play long-term alongside Victor Wembanyama, and it cost them next to nothing. The 3-team trade also involves Bulls guard Zach LaVine, Kings forward Kevin Huerter, and multiple draft picks.
3. Golden State Warriors: Jimmy Butler
The
Warriors lost Andrew Wiggins and a mediocre first-round pick to acquire Jimmy Butler from the Heat in a multi-team trade that everyone is trying to get a piece for. A beneficial deal for the San Francisco team, who gave up very little to get someone of Butler's caliber.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers: De'Andre Hunter
The Cavs got De'Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks, who is on his best-performing stance currently, in exchange for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks, and two pick swaps. It was a pretty sweet deal for both parties, with the Hawks getting some good choices in the future.
5. Toronto Raptors: Brandon Ingram
The Raptors got Brandon Ingram in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a first-round pick, and a second-round pick from the New Orleans Pelicans.
6. Miami Heat: Davion Mitchell
The Heat are getting 26-year-old point guard Davion Mitchell in exchange for forward P.J. Tucker, a second-round pick, and cash from the Raptors in the multi-team deal. Mitchell will be a brilliant addition to the Heat alongside Kyle Anderson and Andrew Wiggins.
7. Sacramento Kings: Zach LaVine
In the same 3-team deal that got De'andre Hunter to the San Antonio Spurs, shooting guard Zach LaVine went to the Kings after having a pretty decent season so far.
8. Detroit Pistons: Dennis Schroder
In a multi-team deal that teams were working on until the last minute, the Pistons received Dennis Schroder from the Utah Jazz via the Warriors. They are also getting Lindy Waters III and the 2031 second-round pick from the Warriors out of this deal.
9. Washington Wizards: Khris Middleton
33-year-old small forward Khris Middleton went to the Wizards in a multi-team deal, alongside AJ Johnson from the Bucks, and a 2028 first-round pick swap.
10. Milwaukee Bucks: Kyle Kuzma
The Bucks received Kyle Kuzma from the Wizards, Jericho Sims from the Knicks, a 2025 second-round pick, and a 2026 second-round pick in a multi-team trade.
