London Olympics bronze medallist wrestler, Yogeshwar Dutt, launched the poster and handbill of the much talked about mega mud wrestling championship, Dangal, that will be held in the city on January 22.

INDORE: London Olympics bronze medallist wrestler, Yogeshwar Dutt, launched the poster and handbill of the much talked about mega mud wrestling championship, Dangal, that will be held in the city on January 22.
Dangal has been an age old tradition in the city, but this is for the first time that the winner of the Dangal will be awarded with a whopping cash prize of Rs 51 lakh in Madhya Pradesh.

Dutt, who was here to promote the mega all India level Dangal to be organised by the Indore district wrestling welfare association said, "People here are crazy for wrestling and they still appreciate the mud wrestling, which is rare to see. The event and prize money will boost up the morale of wrestlers from grass root level."
Dutt, who missed to bag any medal at the Rio Olympics, said that he is focusing on the 2018 Asian Games and Common Wealth Games.
The wrestler was taken to the venue of the mega event, where he launched the poster and handbill of the Dangal. A number of city wrestlers, who are also helping in the management of Dangal were also seen at the venue to meet the Olympian.
While talking about actor Amir Khan's movie- Dangal, Dutt said "It is good that such movies on wrestling are being made and it will help in motivating youngsters. But, no one can become a champion just by watching films, it takes a lot of hard work to be a champion."

Since its announcement, the event has been receiving a great response from the wrestling fraternity from all over the country and over 18 top wrestlers from the country along with other budding wrestlers from the state will take part in the Dangal.
"Four Hind Kesari and four Bharat Kesari will be taking part in the event. MP's Rohit Patel will also participate. A total of six female wrestlers from across the country will also take part in the event," said Dheeraj Thakur, the main organiser of the Dangal.
