04:05We have full faith in the committee as announced by the minister. We are happy that a probe has been ordered. We are calling off our protest for now.
02:53Till the investigation is over, he (Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh) will step aside and co-operate with the investigation and the oversight committee will run the day-to-day affairs of WFI.
Union sports minister listened to our demands and has assured us that a proper investigation will be done. I thank him and we are hopeful that a fair probe will be done, hence we are calling off the protest
During the meeting, the players kept their demands & we held a discussion about it. We had issued a notice to Wrestling Federation of India when the allegations were levelled & asked them to respond within 72 hours.
A detailed discussion was held on the letter received from the athletes and all the members including special invitees presented their views and suggestions
The members have been tasked to hold dialogues with the agitating wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Punia, among others, and look into the charges of sexual harrasment and intimidation against Singh. The members would also like to meet the victims of harassment if the protesting wrestlers wish to share their names with the committee in strict confidentiality.
Prateek Bhushan, the son of the WFI president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, said his father will issue his statement after attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on January 22.
Vinesh Phogat stated that disclosing the names of victims would put them in danger and said that it was one of the reasons for having not yet filed an FIR.

The protest by wrestlers against me is the dharna of Shaheen Bagh. The protesting players have become a toy in the hands of Congress and Deepinder Hooda. This type of conspiracy was done against me by the Congress almost three decades ago. Once again the conspiracy has been repeated. I had earlier said that there was a conspiracy, and big powers are behind it. Now those forces are coming out in the open.. The picture becomes more clear with the tweets and statements by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Deepinder Hooda. This attack is not only on me, but on the Bharatiya Janata Party through me.
