Pankaj Advani got the better of Alex Borg of Malta 4-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the World 6-Red Snooker Championship at Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) on Saturday.
In another pre-quarterfinal match, India's Kamal Chawla went down 2-4 to Mohsen Bukshaisha of Qatar. In the 15-Red team snooker, the Indian pair of Advani and Brijesh Damani fumbled in the quarterfinals against Pakistan's Mohd Asif and Sajjad Hussein 1-4.
In the women's draw, Vidya Pillai and Amee Kamani combined to beat Jessica Woods and Kathy Parashis 3-0 in the World Team 15-Red Snooker event. Bangalore cueist Chitra Magimairaj and Neeta Sanghvi lost in the team event.
