The final saw India get the better of Slovakia 6-4 in a keenly-fought clash.

The final saw both India and Slovakia fight tooth and nail but it was the hosts who were able to raise their game during crunch situations to win the coveted yellow metal.

In the qualification rounds, the Slovakian team comprising Michal Slamka, Adrian Drobny and Filip Marinov were in good form as they topped the points tally with 494 points. The hosts were second to make the final. “This is my first gold at the World Cup and it's very close to my heart. We had a tough final against Slovakia and we are happy to have beaten them to gold,” Prithviraj told TOI.

While Slovakia won silver, the bronze was clinched by Kazakhstan's team comprising Victor Khassyanov, Maxim Kolomoyets and Andrey Mogilevskiy.

Prithviraj may have failed to make the final of the individual trap event but feels he made up for the miss by doing well in the team event. “I definitely could have shot better in the individual event. But I chose not to think too much about the miss. I was keen to make amends for it in the team event and it's nice to have done that,” the 33-year-old said.
