NEW DELHI: India continued its stellar performance at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) 10m World Cup in Granada, Spain, securing both the gold and silver medals in the 10m air rifle junior mixed team event.

Isha Anil Taksale and Umamahesh Maddineni, previous gold medalists in the women's and men's individual events respectively, teamed up to defeat their compatriots Anvii Rathod and Abhinav Shaw in the finals. The Indian duo emerged victorious with a commanding scoreline of 16-8 on Tuesday.

This achievement propelled India's medal tally to seven, with three gold medals in total.

Anvii and Abhinav's stellar performance earned them a spot in the gold medal match after posting an impressive combined score of 629.0 in the qualification round. Following closely behind, Isha and Umamahesh secured their place with a score of 627.4.

However, in a separate event, the Indian pair of Drishti Sangwan and Paras Khola fell short of advancing to the medal matches in the air pistol mixed team event. They finished sixth in the qualification round with a score of 560-12x. Meanwhile, Georgia emerged victorious in this event, clinching both the gold and silver medals.

With a 34-member contingent actively participating in the World Cup, featuring junior and senior 10m air gun competitions exclusively, India's consistent performance underscores the nation's growing prowess in the field of shooting sports.
