NAGPUR: Bihar emerged as the surprise packet on the fourth and last day by winning the sub-junior and junior boys team events in the National Woodball Championship, jointly organized by
Woodball Association of Maharashtra
and
Woodball Association of India
, at the
Nagpur University
ground here on Sunday.
Hosts Maharashtra girls stamped their authority in the sub-junior category. Bihar team, consisting of Shashank, Shubham, Ashutosh, Vikas and Bittu, did well to clinch the title in the sub-junior boys section. Maharashra had to be satisfied with the runners-up, while Himachal Pradesh claimed third spot.
Bihar continued their domination in the junior boys too. They completed the task in 283 strokes. The team was represented by Harsh, Premdeep, Shubham, Ashwin and Nirbhay. With 317 strokes, Jharkhand finished second, while Maharashtra placed third.
However in the sub-junior section, Maharashtra girls won the title. Renuka Dhakne, Sanika Kalmegh, Nayna Karaskar, Darshana More and Payal Chikate led the hosts to triumph.
