Jyothi had earlier told this paper, “I felt very bad (when her name wasn’t recommended for the Khel Ratna in 2023 & 2024). I was left with no other option but to approach the court.”
Cricketers Harmanpreet, Smriti also in Khel Ratna fray Sources have informed TOI that India’s World Cupwinning women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur is also a leading contender for the honour. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana could also be considered. Chess prodigy Divya Deshmukh’s name could be considered for the Arjuna award. She became the first Indian woman to win the FIDE women’s World Cup earlier this year.

She will win the Khel Ratna award in 2025 at any cost because of the blunders done in 2023 and 2024 by the ministry. The court will safe guard the national meritorious sports women who has produced number of medals on her own in individual , mixed and team events by encouraging the budding talent in medals frame and reached the india in top positions in compound event in the world because of her dedicated more than decade relentless hardworking. True sports men should stand for her side to get justice for the upliftment of Indian sports.Read allPost comment
