JAIPUR: In a bid to put weight behind physical education and underline its importance, Imperial International Sports Academy (IISA), a Mumbai based sports management company which is working with a number of schools in Rajasthan, has started a programme called PEAK i.e. Physical Education of All Kids as per NAPSE standard.
Not only the conventional sports, but games like lagori are also preached to achieve best possible results.
The curriculum is designed keeping in mind the sports infrastructure of the schools across the state to ensure optimum utilization of the available resources.
It was learnt that this was done after the initial plan to coach children after school hours was passed as not enough.
The PEAK module works in collaboration with the Schools Curriculums, i.e. like any other subject like mathematics, science where there is a progression after every class; similarly PEAK has progression after every class thus making it an age appropriate programme. The aim is to achieve the desired result during school hours without effecting the study time of the students.
The PEAK programme is supported by 4 pillars i.e. The Curriculum, Coach, Equipment and Continuous monitoring.
PEAK is an entire package where qualified coaches trained to conduct the classes along with the equipment as per the NASPE standards are provided. They not only provide the above service but continuously monitor the implantation of the program by being in touch with school management and training coaches as and when required. A training programme of coaches for the same is currently underway in Mumbai.
