SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir department of Youth Services and Sports, in association with it's counterpart at the centre and JK Olympic Association, is all set to hold an '
Olympic Day Run' in the valley this week.
Nearly 3,000 people are expected to participate in the 10km run on June 23, which will be flagged off by the chief minister,
Omar Abdullah, from Bakshi Stadium, Jammu and Kashmir sports minister, R S Chib said on Monday.
The run will conclude at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), on the banks of Dal lake, where the participants will be received by union minister of state for sports
Ajay Maken, Chib told the reporters.
"The idea of organising such activities is to channelise the energies of youth in the right direction," he said.
