won the under-19 boys' and girls' singles title respectively on the concluding day of the

on Sunday.

Joint third-fourth seed Aryaman registered a hard fought victory over Delhi's Yash Bhargava (joint ¾ seed) in a gruelling five-game match 11-5, 11-6, 9-11, 6-11, 11-4 to take home the winner's trophy. In the girls final, top seed Hong Kong girl Ka Wing dropped the second game but came back to defeat Goa's second seed Akanksha Salunkhe 11-9, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8.

Aryaman, who's heading to the World Championships next week found this victory to be a huge boost to his confidence. "I just focus on the two yellow dots on the ball and leave everything else outside, I was a runner-up last year, so this year was a great upgrade," youngster said.

International Master Vikramaditya Kulkarni (8 points) has taken sole lead with eight points at the end of the eighth round of the Blitz Chess Championship at the Don Bosco High School, Borivali.

Following closely behind in second position is Swapnil Kothari with a score of seven points.
