MDFA League: Wagh's solo strike helps Police win

MUMBAI: A late goal by Rajaram Wagh helped Greater Mumbai Police edge Bombay Gymkhana Colts 1-0 in a well-contested First Division match of the MDFA League at the St. Xavier's ground, Parel. After a goalless first half, the policemen scored through Rajaram Wagh, who netted in the 74th minute.
Paddlers enter main draw
Maharashtra paddlers Senhora D'Souza (women's category) and Omkar Torgalkar and Eric Fernandes (men's category) qualified for the main draw of the 11Even Sports National Ranking (Central Zone) Table Tennis Championships.
Senhora D'Souza defeated Puja Paul of Bengal 3-1 (11-2 811 11-7 11-7) in the first match and later beat Prutha Prabhu of Goa, winning 3-0 (11-5 11-2 11-4). Omkar defeated local challenger Shashank Sharma 3-1 (11-0 9-11 11-7 11-3) and then blanked Shubh Goel of Delhi 3-0 (11-3 11-9 11-8).
