The final will be a clash between the two strongest nations in world kabaddi who have a similar style of play. Both teams have a power based game although the Indians are superior in technique. Iran, who also entered their third consecutive final, had lost to India in the previous two finals and will eye revenge.

India will look to win their third Kabaddi World Cup final and beat Iran for the third time. India had won the inaugural tournament in 2004 and then again in 2007 - both times defeating Iran in the final

The final between the two sides will be a repeat of the 2004 and 2007 editions and it will be interesting to see if Iran can stop India from laying their hands on the World Cup for the third time in-a-row.

Anup Kumar and his men had sensed the sky-high expectations and responded splendidly, beating the young Thai outfit 73-20, in what ultimately proved to be a huge mismatch of a contest.

Iran, who executed their plans well and beat first-time semi-finalist South Korea 22-28, made it to their third Kabaddi World Cup final on the trot.

Defending champions India defeated a hapless Thailand 73-20 to storm into the final of the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup on Friday, while another rising Asian power Iran got the better of South Korea 28-22 in a low-scoring thriller in the first semi-final.
