Hedgewar Akhand Bharat Daud: Sahil, Jayashri, Rohit, Meena reign supreme

NAGPUR: Sahil Lahane, Jayashri Borkar, Sarvadhnya Chamat, Bhagyashree Mahalle, Rohit Jha, Meena Kalambe, Avanti Hatwar and Shadab Pathan reigned supreme in their respective categories in the Dr Hedgewar Memorial Akhand Bharat Daud, organized by Krida Bharti, here on Sunday.
In the U-14 boys 3-km race, Sahil, a member of Om Sai Sports Club, triumphed with a timing of 11 minutes and 15.3 seconds.Sahil was followed by Pratik Kamdi (Montfort) and Ritesh Bhope (Nehru Vidyalaya).
Bhagvati Girls HS student Jayashri Borkar dazzled with a timing of 5.45 in the 2-km girls category. Mohini Bhute of Pandit Baccharaj Vyas Vidyalaya and Darshana Dayre finished second and third, respectively.
In the U-12 boys group, Sarvadhnya and Manth Shende, both students of Pt. Baccharaj Vyas Vidyalaya, finished 1-2. Bhonsala Military School student Mahant Choure achieved the third place.
Bhagyashree of JP English School emerged champion in the 1-km girls section. Chaitali Borkar (Bhagwati Girls) and Vidita Meshram (Pt. Baccharaj Vyas) secured second and third place, respectively.
In the U-18 boys 5-km race, Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal athlete Rohit Jha clocked 13.44 to achieve top spot. BVM Ashti student Yugal Padagre and Palash Gadhve (Prerna Vidyalaya) came second and third, respectively.
Meena Kalambe (Nav Maharashtra), Amruta Adelwar (Vidyarthi Yuvak), and Priyanka Mule (Mahila MV) were the top three runners in the 3-km girls section.
In the U-16 boys 4-km, Shadab Pathan of City Sports Academy crossed the finish line first followed by Vishal Bisen (Nehru Vidyalaya) and Prajwal Sabal (SB City Mahavidyalya).
Earlier, acting director of Department of Sports and Physical of Nagpur University Kalpana Jadhav, Arvind Sajwal of Laxmibai National Institution of Physical Education, IDCPE principal Arvind Karwande, Prasanna Hardas of Krida Bharti, Kamlesh Urkude and Ravi Tiwari flagged off the races.
Shiv Chhatrapati awardee Shatrughna Gokhale, Trilochan Kharbade, Sanjay Batwe, NDAA secretary Sharad Suryavanshi and others were also present on the occasion. Former director of Department of Sports and Physical of RTM Nagpur University Dr Dhananjay Welukar distributed the prizes.

U-12 girls (1-km): Bhagyashree Mahalle, Chaitali Borkar, Vidita Meshram, Akansha Sodia, Anjali Madavi.
U-14 boys (3-km): Sahil Lahane, Pratik Kamdi, Ritesh Bhope, Shreyas Chate, Anil Madavi.
U-14 girls (2-km): Jayashri Borkar, Mohini Bhute, Darshana Dayre, Devashri Labhe, Mitali Bhoyar.
U-16 boys (4-km): Shadab Pathan, Vishal Bisen, Prajwal Sabal, Sarjal Gurpude, Sahil Pathan.
U-16 girls (2.5-km): Avanti Hatwar, Geetal Sonekar, Nikita Talmale, Priyanshi Sorte, Vidhi Parihar.
U-18 boys (5-km): Rohit Jha, Yugal Padagre, Palash Gadhlave, Ashok Pushali.
U-18 girls (3-km): Meena Kalambe, Amruta Adelwar, Priyanka Mule, Krutika Adelwar, Nidhi Tarare.
