NAGPUR: Basketball Federation of India (BFI) will start the national training camp for the probable players in the U-18 girls' section at the training centre of Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from Friday.
For the first camp in the U-18 category 24 probable players from across the country have been selected and the camp will be held till November 26.
From this national training program 18 players will be shortlisted for the second camp from where the 12-member India U-18 girls' squad will be selected for the Fiba Asia Basketball Championship, scheduled next year.
The camp will be held under the watchful eyes of India's foreign coach Francisco Gracia from Spain. Punjab's Harjinder Singh has been named as the head coach while Shiba Maggon of Delhi is the coach of the camp.
