AHMEDABAD: Baroda hoopsters put up a brilliant show as they won the Late Sanjay Vichare Memorial Basketball Invitational Tournament recently. In a dominating display of a game of basketball, the team from Baroda shone under the light as they overwhelmed their rivals from Khwaja Ajmer 86-49 in the final.
The first period was on the equal footing as Baroda scored 16 points compared to Ajmer's 11.

The second period, however, saw Ajmer fighting back things scoring 19 points to Baroda's 18.
But Baroda turned the tide in the tightly contested third period with a 7-6 score. However, in the fourth period, Baroda unleashed their power and surged ahead with a 25-18 score.
For the winners, Dishant Shah collected highest points with 15 while Jugal Shah added 13 more. Skipper Sarfaraz Sheikh too chipped in with nine crucial points.
For the losing side, Shamsher, Sumit and Rajiv scored six points each.
In the morningsession, hosts Ahmedabad Basketball Club (ABC) showed improved nerves to take the third place. In the third place match, they beat Jodhpur 68-66 in an exciting match of the day.
Kasi Rajan was the top-scorer for the winners with 28 points while Mohammad Ali scored 21 points for Jodhpur.
Earlier in the semis, Ajmer broke many hearts as they beat host Ahmedabad Basketball Club (ABC) 96-74 in the semis.
For the winners, Rajeev scored 36 points while Kasi Rajan scored 27 points for ABC.
In the second semis, Baroda beat Jodhpur 92-63. Dishant top-scored with 36 points.
