Three-weight champion and pound-for-pound star Vasyl Lomachenko announces retirement from boxing at 37

Three-weight champion and pound-for-pound star Vasyl Lomachenko hung up his gloves at the age of 37. With a rare amateur boxing record of 396-1, the fighter concluded his career with a pro-boxing record of 18-3. In this limited number of bouts, Lomachenko created history by winning titles across the featherweight, super-featherweight and lightweight divisions. Lomachenko’s last bout was his win in May 2024 against George Kambosos Jr.Vasyl Lomachenko is considered one of the greatest amateur boxers of all time, owing to the record he set during his career. Apart from competing and winning titles across different weight divisions, the Ukrainian fighter also won a silver medal at the 2007 World Championships, gold at the 2008 European Championships, consecutive gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and consecutive gold at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships. The fighter’s professional boxing career started in the year 2013, continuing until May 2024, before announcing his retirement today on June 5, 2025, through a post on Instagram. Lomachenko captioned his farewell video, writing, “Peace to all,” leaving the fans emotional because of the departure.One of the users wrote, “Vasya!
