One possible opponent is former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. Whittaker has already revealed plans to move up to light heavyweight and compete in July. This has made fans believe that a fight between the two could headline a UFC Fight Night card in Abu Dhabi.

The light heavyweight division is currently without a champion. Pereira has vacated the title after deciding to move up to heavyweight. He is now scheduled to fight Ciryl Gane in an interim heavyweight title bout. This decision has opened the door for fresh title contenders in the 205-pound division.
