Silva is a brutal fighter in the ring with an appreciation for tattoos, using his body as a canvas to display his values, personal journey and life experiences. Among his many tattoos, the fighter carries a lock tattoo on his chest, featuring a Nordic style lock, adorned with a diamond including an inscription of his mother’s name which represents the safeguarding of his emotions and the love he has for his mother. The lock symbolises genuine emotions and his safeguarded emotions which are accessible only to a select few.
“The lock has a diamond with mother’s name right under it, so no one can touch these emotions,” says Silva. “Here’s the heart, my happiness. And the lock symbolises many things. And it’s an old lock, from a Nordic era, before Christ, so maybe it’s a lock that only real emotions can open. It’s basically that. Only real people by my side.”
