Islam Makhachev starts donation drive for 3000 hungry children; need a total of $77490

MMA is one of the most violent sports in the world. The players in this combat sport look tough and violent once they are inside the Octagon. However, these same athletes are the ones who win their fans’ hearts by the social service that they undertake every now and then. Fighters like Jiri Prochazka even went a step ahead to shave their heads as a tribute to their fan, who is fighting cancer. Now, Islam Makhachev, the reigning lightweight champion, took to his Instagram and started a fund-donation drive for people who are in dire need of food.
With an MMA stat of 27-1-0 and undefeated for the last 15 matches, Makhachev not only wins inside the octagon but also outside the ring in the real world through his social service act and charitable actions. Along with his professional aim, he carries a certain amount of social responsibility with him that helps him work towards his own community.
On 10th of March 2025, Makhachev posted a story on his Instagram which promoted a fundraiser aimed at feeding 3,000 hungry children for the six months. It stated, “Let’s provide 3000 people in need with food for six months.”

While the goal is to raise $77490, only $548.98 has been raised until now. With the story being posted only a few hours ago, the charity amount is expected to increase within the next few days. Actions like these reflect his deep sense of responsibility toward making a positive impact in the world.
This is not the first time the Russian fighter has stepped up for a charitable activity. Before this, Makhachev led a successful fundraiser for Zainal Abid, a young patient suffering from acute leukemia. With the fans’ support, Makhachev raised an astounding $124,403.53, which aided the young patient significantly.
Such acts within the MMA community reflect upon the good will and sportsmanship of the athletes participating in the combat. Other names from the community, who have contributed a lot for the betterment of society include Dana White, Dustin Poirier, and others.
